Vertebra I must say is a unique release that combined
rock, metal and some hardcore element in one album. The perfect blend gives
this album a live and fresh touch. Imagine the black metal riff combine with
groovy rock blast and later comes some depressive emotion that color the
variant in Australasia’s songs. Melodic, and to some extend fierce with blast,
but nothing is out of control. They have Pelican, Mogwai, This Will Destroy You
and Joy division in their influence list and I bet one day, Australasia will be
on some other newer band’s influences list. Vertebra will be played in my
stereo for years. Oh ya, my only complaint, if they can remove the voice, this
album will get my double thumbs up.
